Voted into a new job
* After one of the strangest job applications in years, 18-year-old Palmer Marchese (right, wth Kellyn Morris) has been named the new co-host of Ten's early morning Toasted TV. Marchese won his job after viewers were asked to vote in an online competition.* Stargate SG1 fans might be mourning the death of the series spin-off Stargate Atlantis, but there is good news. Another spin-off series is on the way. This time a team enters a spaceship which takes off on a one-way trip through the gates with no hope of return.* In a move the Seven Network is sure to be watching closely, the latest season of Dancing With The Stars (USA) includes two gold-medal winning Olympians. It's a good bet the network's stylists are measuring up Stephanie Rice for a pair of dancing pumps as you read this.* The Discovery Channel launched a new series this week featuring survival expert Bear Grylls. Called Man Vs Wild, it promises to be an interesting look at how to live off the land and in terrible conditions. Now go back to your real jobs while there's still time.Whatever Happened To . . .Jerry O'ConnellThe star and (eventually) producer of the hit science fiction series Sliders, Jerry O'Connell spent much of his time since the show ended in film, but has made occasional returns to the small screen. We'll next see him in a guest role in Christina Applegate's comedy Samantha Who?
